WHY US

Have you SCAMPED your vessel?

We help our customers increase profits by minimising fuel consumption and maximising ships’ hull efficiency

SCAMP has been providing and procuring professional underwater services since the 1960s. Over the years the name SCAMP has become synonymous with quality in the sector. Within the many fields we cover in underwater husbandry, we are probably best known for our expertise in underwater hull cleaning and propeller maintenance, which underscores our belief in the importance of keeping vessels Sustainably Clean And Maintaining Performance.

Our expert divers use approved and patented hull surface cleaning machines that are globally recognized as the most effective means to recuperate vessels performance and service speed.

Advanced cleaning techniques and equipment, including our top of the range Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) at Gibraltar and Algeciras, ensure that no damage is caused to the most delicate of anti-fouling systems, such as silicone and other soft-coated paints.

We firmly believe in environmental sustainability. Humbly believing that our effective and efficient operations contribute to reducing our customers vessels’ carbon footprint by ensuring they have clean, smooth and hydrodynamic hull and propellers. This allows for lower fuel consumption and engine stress, which in turn reduces emissions. Hence caring for our planet, whilst saving you money.

SUSTAINABILITY

Underwater
Inspections and Surveys

SCAMP in-water inspections are an invaluable aid to our principals. Hull and propeller fouling condition assessment, classification societies’ surveys, sale and purchase transactions, P&I claims and dry-dock planning usually require photographic and/or video in-water inspections.

Our well-trained and highly experienced divers perform underwater inspections and surveys, backed by top-tier image recording technology, with still photography and/or CCTV video.

Our technical reports provide a detailed assessment of general hull and propeller condition, the state of paint coating, cathodic anti-fouling protection, and any damage to steel surfaces and appendages.

As well as for changes of ownership, sales and purchase transactions, and insurance purposes, most in-water class surveys are performed, as instructed by Classification Societies, to extend dry-docking periods, known as Underwater Inspection in Lieu of Dry-docking (UWILD). Surveys may often involve other tasks such as taking rudder pintle clearances, tail shaft wear-down readings and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) for plate thickness.

Safety First

Above and below the surface

Compliance

SCAMP ensures compliance with Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (HSQE) laws and regulations by implementing rigorous HSQE standards that go above and beyond them. With SCAMP you can rest assured that compliance is key throughout our processes and procedures.

Managing risk

SCAMP’s formal risk assessment framework is fundamental to ensuring we always operate safely. We actively identify risks and work to mitigate them before commencing operations.

Our health and safety framework

SCAMP’s Diving Safety Management System underpins all our operation both at surface and below the water. Our senior management team is responsible for HSQE, continuously verifying our processes, procedures and guiding principles to ensure SCAMP complies with current requirements.

We have rigorous compliance policies in place, and we maintain assessment, self-evaluation and audit programs to ensure complete safety. Our technical and management teams meet regularly to review quality control and assurance audits.
